I have some problems with my Pyro PCI 64 Firewire Card.

At work I'm aving a HP Workstation with AVID XPress Pro and the Pyro Firewire Card. Last week I installed WinXP and AVID again because the system seemed to be kinda instable from time to time.
I looks like everything is working fine now....the AVID mojo is connected to the Pyro Card and works.

I just bought a ADS API601 for notebooks (I have a Toshiba SP105). I had a generic PCMCIA before, that worked fine with my JVC GRD72 but not with my M-Audio Audiophile Firewire. The reason I switched to ADS was that M-Audio recomends it. I installed it and everything seemed to work fine - the notebook installed it as an TI OHCI compilant, but when I plug in any of my 1394 devices nothing happens at all.

I live in UK and want to transfer my videos from my Sony DCR -TRV120E (Digital8 Video Camera Recorder) to my Personal Computer which is loaded with Windows XP.

From there, I will burn the Videos onto a DVD.

The manual talks about using i.link but I need to know what cable I have to buy.

Is it a dv cable but if so, does this plug into a USB port on PC for downloading (or is there a dv port on my PC somewhere?).

This problem does not occurs when setting the cam to filming mode : the image is good even when moving the cam.

When the unit was first installed, it was recognized and worked, although the video quality was artifact-y.

Several months ago, the unit suddenly was no longer recognized. I have tried for months to get it to work, but to no avail.

My pyro a/v link has stopped working. I plug it in and turn it on, but none of my Macs will recognize it nor does it show up in the system profiler. iMovie HD doesn't recognize it. I've tried this on four different Macs, ranging from System 10.3.9 to 10.4.3. I've even tried making sure the DIP switches are correct. I have the same model at work and brought it home, and it is fine. It is recognized by the Macs and ready to go.

Any thoughts?

It's in an older system- it's a AMD T-bird 1.4, 512 mb, running XP Pro with all possible updates, a WD 40gb system drive and a 320 gb capture array on a fastrak raid card. It also has a Canopous DV Storm2 and Stormbay in it.
