			<description><![CDATA[ I just purchased a Pyro 1394DV for Notebooks.  When I plug it into my Lenovo T42p or X40 laptop, the 1394 card is recognized (drivers get installed and I see
it show up in the device manager with no errors).  Unfortunately, when I connect to an Canon HV30 camcorder or to a Western Digital MyBook drive, those devices
are not recognized.  Windows doesn&#39;t seem to notice that I&#39;ve plugged anything in.  I&#39;ve tried different firewire cables, with no benefit.

However, on the tapes with lower quality, I'm getting a lot of dropped frames; sometimes so much so that the end result is useless. I've connected a VCR to the Pyro.<br><br>Is there anything I can do to improve this? I bought the Pyro A/V Link with hopes that I could use it to convert the S-Video from my Nvidia 6800GT graphics card to Firewire input to the camera. Doing so would allow me to record a PC Game direct to camcorder without bogging down the CPU by performing a capture.<br><br>However, the S-video quality is not good at all. I plug it in and turn it on, but none of my Macs will recognize it nor does it show up in the system profiler. iMovie HD doesn't recognize it. I've tried this on four different Macs, ranging from System 10.3.9 to 10.4.3. I've even tried making sure the DIP switches are correct. The idea was to use it to shorten the capture time for an upcoming series of projects. <br><br>It's in an older system- it's a AMD T-bird 1.4, 512 mb, running XP Pro with all possible updates, a WD 40gb system drive and a 320 gb capture array on a fastrak raid card.
