I am connecting the Sony DCR210E to the Pyro A/V Link API-550 RevC via Firewire 4 pin cable.

I am connecting the Pyro A/V Link to the PC via Fireware connection.

The Pyro A/V link pin settings are:
1 == up
2 == up
3 == down
4 == down

Have my direct tivo (samsung) hooked up to my pyro a/v link via s-video and rca for audio. When the unit is simply idle the blue digital light is illuminated. However, the minute I push the play button in Ulead VS 7, it switches to analog. I recently got an ADS PYRO A/V Link and got to work with it right away. No trouble at all using it to import old VHS tapes to my computer.

Next step I used Windows Movie Maker 2 to edit the material in to a new video

Now I'm trying to put the new video back out to VHS on the same VCR I used to import and seem to have hit a wall. The couple of times I've tried it I get nothing on the tape.

I simply can't export via DV / Firewire. I get a black screen with little gray artifacts on output. Im at wits end. This 120 lb peice of iron is about to be airborne.

If I select a clip then try to play it in the Project window Premiere closes down completly.
Quick Time was selected in Preferences.
Yet if I try to play it outside of Premiere the Quick Time window comes up and it plays o/k.
Also being a bit new to Premiere and would like to know a quick way to find and delete Preferences.
Any help appreciated.

I have a 660 mhz system, 258 RAM, and two 60 gig hard drives.
