I plug it in to my PC, and it says that I just plugged in an Unknown Device. The driver for this capture card is already installed.

I tried uninstalling and re-installing CapWiz again, nothing! idk what to do!

Someone please help me!

I'm using Windows XP Pro, Service Pack (2), however, when I transfer using RCA cable, it works fine, but S-Video cable
gives me problems.

Click on "no" as not to update the driver. Cap Wiz will start normally and you will be able to capture videos. In my case from a vhs video recorder.

I have used it on Win Vista Business and currently on Win 7 RC1.

I hope there's someone who will find a way to disable the driver check, maybe a registry fix? Selecting yes does nothing. I get the update capwiz usb driver window but in the update driver box says to install capwiz before updating the driver.

However I can still get into the program and capture. But Vista finds the device, installs it, and even lists it by name in Device Manager. So why won't it run?

Here's what you need:

Set Vista to the basic (non-aero) visual style. Sorry that is required and if you won't do it Vista will do it for you.

This works good - but sometimes the picture change the color.

Can I change something in CapWiz ?

My vcr is a JVC HR-8000U, a rather sophisticated model in its day.

It works for a while then the image disappears. I have to then press the mode button to green then red and finally the images will reappear but I've lost footage in the meantime. It's very cumbersome to say the least.
